Big Night Under the Big Top

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay

More than 1,000 of New England’s brightest dignitaries, biggest philanthropists and trendiest fashionistas attended Big Night Under the Big Top on January 27, 2018. The event, which has been consistently named “the party of the year” by the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, raised over $1.8 million in donations.

With its vintage cirque theme, Big Night Under the Big Top surprised and delighted our guests. Donors sipped on cocktails, and tantalized their taste buds with delicious fare by The Catered Affair. Our ring masters - Billy Costa and Jenny Johnson - kept the crowd entertained between sets.

The musical performances by Misterwives, Saint Motel, and Matoma were punctuated throughout the night by cirque performers including an aerialist, contortionist, and hand to hand balancers. A live Zoltar performer handed out fortunes throughout the night and a strong man posed for photos with guests - immersing our guests in the circus experience.

Margot and Jonathan Davis were honored as the recipients of the 9th Annual James J. Pallotta Award at the event, an accolade that recognizes individuals who have successfully engaged in supporting at-risk children in Greater Boston and beyond.

“I heard accolades all night long about how fantastic everything was from the decor to the food to the bands to the honorees to the mission speaker. You did an outstanding job!!!  Our agency shined brightly last night and you inspired lot of people to get engaged in our mission."

– Wendy Foster, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay

"I am proud of all of you for your contribution to this event. I watched the hard work, scrambling and strategic thinking that has been abuzz for a long time now. Thank you for all that you do for the kids we serve and the hard working staff at the agency. They are lucky to have such a smart and talented group in Special Events. Cheers to a great night!

- Mark O'Donnell, Senior VP & CDO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay
