Big 3 Fishing Tournament
Big Brothers Big Sisters | 2018
2018 marked the fifth annual Big 3 Fishing Tournament, a fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands (BBBS) featuring fishing, fun, and fundraising. This celebratory year raked in a record-breaking amount of $385,000!
The tournament has grown considerably since its inception five years ago to include nearly 300 attendees and 43 participating boats. The fishing tournament was followed by an evening cocktail reception on the beach, and a surf and turf dinner under the stars at the Wychmere Beach Club.
A steel drum entertained guests by the tiki bar during cocktail hour where crab cakes, steak tartare and mini lobster rolls were passed, and the "Shucking Brothers" were shucking fresh oysters and clams.
In addition to the food and fishing, guests also participated in a record-breaking live auction and super raffle to snag amazing and unique items such as a backyard renovation including a brand new firepit, a sunset dinner cruise for 50 people, a custom handmade teak and holly corn hole game, and much more!
After the fundraising, the Grab Brothers rocked the crowd, prompting a fun dance party into the night. All proceeds from the entire event benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands.
“This is the largest fundraiser for our agency. The event brings together a love of fishing and our community, all while making a direct impact on the Cape and Islands and the kids we serve."
– JR Mell, Regional Director of BBBSCCI
"What a fantastic event and what a tremendous record-breaking outcome for the kids on the Cape and Islands! Bravo to you! Thank you to all for your tireless efforts, dedication and commitment to this event."
- Wendy Foster, President & CEO of BBBSMB
