This sweet couple finally tied the knot after the Covid-19 pandemic rescheduled their plans multiple times - Together, we navigated lockdowns, travel bans, and family emergencies. However, when the sun rose on their wedding day, it was all smiles - the wait was worth it! All the delays and cancelations meant that they could spend more time updating their backyard to create the perfect oasis for their day.
From two cultures across the pond, this couple combined Dutch and English traditions, wildflowers, personalized details, and rustic simplicity to create a memorable and intimate backyard wedding with their closest family and friends. The bride incorporated handmade details throughout the event, spending countless hours personally hand stamping invitations & programs, and personalizing napkin rings as a seating chart.
Because of the intimate guest list, the couple were able to personalize the ceremony by incorporating singalong (a British wedding tradition) to "Stand By Me" as well as a unique handfasting ceremony with a string of ribbons individually tied by everyone in attendance. Another European nod - Instead of a traditional cake, the couple opted for a tiered cheese-cake, which was sliced up and served as an after dinner cheese course.
