Spring Gala
The Boston Architectural College | 2017

In 2017, in an effort to freshen up the event that was quickly becoming known around campus (and Boston) as "The BAC Gala" we grabbed tight to the euphemism and switched gears, creating the "Spring Gala." This event kept the same model as our previous fundraising event but increased the focus on the design aspect while minimizing focus on outright sustainability.

Over 500 guests from the architecture, design, and allied professions attended the BAC's largest fundraiser ever, the Spring Gala, on Saturday, April 6 at the Innovation and Design Building. The event raised a record-breaking $415,000 for the College.

This year, students and professional designers were paired in groups with each F&B proprietor to create custom, one-of-a-kind signs to display at their tasting stations during the event. Inspiring and full of personality, each sign was a perfect complement to its accompanying restaurant.

Featuring food and beverage tastings from local restaurants and bars including Fuji at West of Chestnut, Antique Taqueria, Buttermilk & Bourbon, Lion’s Tail Boston, Legal Sea Foods, and Saloniki Greek, the Spring Gala proves once again that the BAC hosts a kick-ass bash! This is not your average Boston gala!

“Bravo!  What an amazing event.  I was saying to a few colleagues that the space felt exactly right for the crowd.  I thought that we honored Howard’s memory well and made the students the center of the night’s purpose.”
- Karen Nelson, BAC Dean of Architecture

"Thank you so much for including me! I learned a lot and am thrilled to have had to opportunity to meet and work with you all. Congrats on the big numbers!! That is awesome!"
- Taniya Nayak, HGTV host, BAC alumna, and Spring Gala Co-Chair

“Excellent job on last night’s event! I only heard outstanding reviews from the diverse people who attended.”
- Steven Baron, Designer and BAC Alumnus
