The Boston Architectural College
For the fourth year in a row, the BAC broke records and provided an exuberant night of networking and fun for alumni, donors and students at the Spring Gala, held on Thursday, April 19 at the Boston Design Center.
This year's event incorporated a color-blocked Miami club vibe with bright neon pops of color against a bright white backdrop. Electronic music pumped through the night while nearly 500 guests mixed and mingled, dining on tasty treats from the local restaurant tasting tables.
Professional designers and students teamed up once again to create colorful, eye-popping deSIGNS that were featured at each tasting table. The teams were given a primary color they needed to incorporate into their signs, and were further inspired by the restaurants they were paired with to create a perfect complement to the tasting table.
New-to-town restaurants like Citrus & Salt, Yellow Door Taqueria, Saloniki Greek, Sensational Food Catering, and Lion's Tail pitted food and drink against Boston favorites like Fuji, Lower Mills Tavern, Abby Lane, Whole Foods, and Veggie Galaxy. Hope Family Wines poured out wine, and beer lovers got their fill on brews from Harpoon and Down the Road.
A beautifully curated silent auction captivated the attention of the crowd with unique experiences, art, decor, and travel opportunities. Bidding was fierce on a couple of the items, and we overheard one competitive couple state "This is the most compelling art collection I've seen at a fundraising auction."
