A wet knot is harder to untie, and so the light rain on our wedding day was not all together unfortunate – and                                                             it made for some dreamy photos. Of course everyone forgot about the rain once the ceremony began and                                                                   had an amazing time when the beer and wine started flowing. We incorporated Gerald's love of craft beer                                                                   with our very home-brewed pale ale style beer, which we aptly named “Something Borrowed, Something                                                                     Brewed" and we incorporated my love of wine in the etched wine glass favors.

My mother graciously offered some of the lace from her wedding dress to create a unique garter that I embellished with an opal and gold charm my Abuelo had given me as a child.

The stamps we used on all of our Save the Dates and Invitations were from my mother’s vintage stamp collection. The reception centerpieces were held in vintage mismatched milk glass – an ode to my parent’s wedding which also featured milk glass.

A jewelry artist at Stonybrook Fine Arts in Jamaica Plain, MA worked with us to design our wedding bands. After two day-long sessions together in her studio I had braided white, rose, and yellow gold into my band and Gerald had hand-cast (Lord of the Rings-style) his white gold band.

Flowers played heavily throughout the printed material and floral arrangements including allium, kumquats, lilacs, peonies, cabbage roses, delphinium, and orchids. The bright coral, purple, and orange colors popped against the clean white-on-white tables.
