NONPROFIT EVENT PLANNING & DESIGN | BOSTON, MA

Minds Matter Boston

Spring Soiree 2026

We approached the event design of the Minds Matter Boston Spring Soiree at Artists for Humanity as a visual expression of possibility: bold, colorful, joyful, and full of unexpected moments.

A kaleidoscopic palette of bright, energetic color moved throughout the space, layered with playful details and intentional moments of discovery. Rather than creating a traditional nonprofit gala environment, we wanted the room to feel welcoming and alive—a place where guests could celebrate, connect, and engage with the mission in a way that felt genuinely fun.

Books became a recurring design element throughout the event, woven into the décor as both visual moments and meaningful storytelling devices. They served as a tangible reminder of the educational journeys Minds Matter helps make possible—and the doors that education can open.

Fundraising Event Design That Gets Guests Involved

For us, nonprofit event planning doesn't stop at what guests see. We look for opportunities to turn the entire guest journey into an experience.

Alongside the evening's traditional silent auction and paddle raise, we developed interactive fundraising activations designed to encourage donor engagement and keep the mission front and center throughout the event.

Our signature Lockbox Fundraiser returned, giving guests the chance to make a small donation for an opportunity to unlock a prize-filled box.

We also debuted a brand-new fundraising activation: a custom sticker vending machine. Guests made a contribution, took a turn at the machine, and received a sticker with every play. Hidden among the stickers were coveted Golden Tickets, each unlocking a special prize.

These activations transformed giving into something tangible, social, and playful—creating additional opportunities for guests to engage with the organization while generating energy throughout the room.

Event Production & Guest Experience

From the visual environment to the fundraising strategy, every element of the event was designed to work together.

The result was a nonprofit fundraiser that felt less like a traditional gala and more like an immersive celebration of what happens when a community invests in its students.

Color, books, interactive experiences, fundraising moments, and thoughtful details gave guests multiple ways to connect with the story of Minds Matter—and with one another.

The Impact

The organization's $325,000 fundraising goal was surpassed, with more than $36,000 raised during the event to support students on their journey to college success.

For us, that's the sweet spot of nonprofit event design: creating an experience that looks incredible, feels memorable, and gives people a reason to lean in—then turning that energy into meaningful impact.
