How We Designed an Immersive Event Focused on Nervous System Regulation, Meaningful Connection, and Women's Leadership

As luxury event planners, we're often asked to create experiences that do more than entertain. The most impactful events create transformation.
That vision became the foundation for Unbuttoned: The Unfiltered Collective, and our inaugrual immersive wellness retreat and women's networking event hosted at Remedy Place in Boston's Seaport District. Designed for entrepreneurs, executives, creatives, and high-achieving professionals, the experience combined luxury hospitality, science-backed wellness practices, and intentional community building to create a powerful alternative to traditional networking events.
At Champagne & Confetti: Celebrations by Catalina, we believe event design should consider not only what guests see, but how they feel. For Unbuttoned, that meant creating an environment specifically designed to support nervous system regulation, restoration, and authentic connection. We partnered up with Tia DiVencenzo, a health coach & luxury retreat planner to curate this experience.
Designing a Luxury Wellness Experience for Women Leaders
From the moment guests arrived at Remedy Place, every touchpoint was thoughtfully curated to encourage attendees to slow down and step outside the demands of everyday leadership.
The day began with a series of wellness workshops led by respected practitioners and experts focused on personal growth, self-awareness, and meaningful conversation. Rather than centering productivity or performance, the programming encouraged participants to reconnect with themselves while building genuine relationships with fellow women leaders.
This intentional approach transformed the event from a traditional networking experience into a true wellness retreat — one that prioritized presence, reflection, and community.
Throughout the day, guests explored red light therapy, hyperbaric chambers, AI-assisted massage treatments, saunas, cold plunges, and body rollers.
As event planners, we're seeing growing interest in wellness-focused events that blend luxury hospitality with evidence-based wellness practices. Unbuttoned demonstrated how experiential event design can create lasting impact by supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.
Nervous System Regulation Through Experiential Event Design
At the heart of Unbuttoned was a simple but powerful question posed by health coach Tia: What would happen if we designed an event around what the nervous system actually needs?
Drawing from her work helping high-achieving women regulate stress, prevent burnout, and create sustainable success, Tia helped shape an experience that challenged the "more is more" mentality often present in both networking and wellness spaces. Rather than creating a packed agenda that demanded constant participation, we intentionally built spaciousness into the day.
Guests were invited to move through the experience in a way that felt supportive to them. For some, that meant engaging in meaningful conversations with fellow attendees, participating in workshops, and building new relationships. For others, it meant finding quiet moments alone in a hyperbaric chamber, lingering over a cup of matcha, or taking advantage of the restorative wellness offerings throughout Remedy Place.
This "choose your own adventure" approach was intentional. We recognized that nervous system regulation doesn't look the same for everyone. While connection can be deeply restorative, so can solitude. Rather than prescribing a single path, we designed opportunities for both community and introspection, allowing guests to tune into what they needed most in the moment.
As event designers, we're increasingly interested in how experiences can support not only engagement, but wellbeing. Unbuttoned demonstrated that thoughtful event design can create an environment where guests feel empowered to slow down, listen to themselves, and engage on their own terms. The result was an experience that felt less like a traditional networking event and more like a collective exhale.

Elevated Hospitality Meets Authentic Connection
While the foundation of Unbuttoned was exceptional hospitality and guest experience, the visual design was far from an afterthought.
As luxury event planners, we believe the most memorable environments are those where aesthetics and intention work hand in hand. Every design choice was carefully considered to create a space that felt both aspirational and approachable — inviting guests to settle in, stay awhile, and fully engage with the experience.
Throughout Remedy Place, we layered thoughtful environmental design elements that softened the modern wellness space and transformed it into a warm, welcoming retreat. Lush floral installations added texture, movement, and color throughout the venue, creating moments of delight around every corner. Organic arrangements drew inspiration from the natural world, reinforcing the day's themes of restoration, growth, and connection. Lounge areas were intentionally styled to encourage conversation, while thoughtfully curated details created a sense of discovery as guests moved through the experience.
To support meaningful interaction, conversation prompts were integrated throughout the environment. Strategically placed signage invited guests to move beyond small talk and engage in deeper dialogue, offering thoughtful questions centered around personal growth, ambition, wellbeing, and what it means to build a fulfilling life. These prompts became natural conversation starters, helping transform introductions into genuine connections and creating an atmosphere that felt collaborative rather than transactional.
Hospitality remained at the center of every decision. Rather than limiting food and beverage to designated meal periods, we designed a continuous grazing experience that allowed guests to nourish themselves throughout the day. Beautifully styled breakfast and lunch displays featured nutrient-dense offerings designed to sustain energy and support overall wellbeing without sacrificing presentation or indulgence.
Guests enjoyed an abundance of fresh seasonal fruits, protein-rich options, vibrant vegetables, artisanal cheeses, and thoughtfully prepared bites that encouraged guests to gather, linger, and refuel between workshops and wellness activations. The grazing tables became gathering spaces in their own right, fostering spontaneous conversations and moments of connection throughout the retreat.
The beverage experience was equally intentional. Freshly prepared coffee and matcha provided steady energy throughout the morning, while a curated selection of wellness-forward beverages, mocktails, and cocktails offered guests options that aligned with their individual preferences. Whether attendees were beginning their day with a ceremonial matcha, hydrating between wellness experiences, or toasting new friendships later in the afternoon, every offering was designed to feel elevated, thoughtful, and abundant.
Together, the hospitality, environmental design, and guest experience strategy created an atmosphere that felt luxurious without being exclusive and intentional without feeling overly structured. Every element worked in harmony to support the larger goal of the day: creating a space where ambitious women could feel cared for, inspired, and genuinely connected to themselves and one another.
A Boston Women's Networking Event Reimagined
Following lunch, guests transitioned to lululemon in Boston's Seaport District for an intimate sip-and-shop networking experience.
Accompanied by music from DJ Valentina, attendees connected over cocktails while enjoying personalized gifting moments, including custom engraved lululemon hair clips and delicate floral-adorned cookies.
Unlike traditional networking events, the conversations that emerged throughout the day were rooted in shared experiences rather than transactional exchanges. By prioritizing wellness, vulnerability, and intentional connection, Unbuttoned created a stronger foundation for professional relationships and community building.
The Future of Luxury Event Planning
As luxury event planners in Boston, we're seeing a growing shift toward experiences that prioritize human connection and personal wellbeing alongside exceptional design.
Unbuttoned: The Unfiltered Collective exemplifies what happens when luxury event production, wellness programming, and intentional community building come together. Through thoughtful event design, curated networking opportunities, and restorative wellness experiences, the experience is a catalyst for both personal and professional growth.
More than a wellness retreat. More than a networking event.
It was a reminder that the most memorable experiences aren't simply beautiful — they're transformative.
For ambitious women seeking connection, restoration, and expansion, Unbuttoned offers something increasingly rare: permission to pause.
And in today's world, that may be the greatest luxury of all.
